Our Mission: Assist individuals in our community with educational enrichment projects.

Billerica Adventure Series Corporation (BASC) develops and sponsors children’s education enrichment programs for Billerica and adjoining communities. We focus on issues our youth encounter in their daily lives. The issues range from self-esteem, bullying, peer pressure, decision making and literacy.

Brief History of Billerica Adventure Series Corp. (BASC)

In 2008 some like-minded volunteers came together to establish a group called Billerica Adventure Series Corp. (because life is an adventure) for the purpose of filling a need in our community with development of education enrichment programs. BASC filed for incorporation and became a non-profit 501 (c) (3) in 2009.

The initial program disbursed grants in small increments to our community for education enrichment projects. This was made possible from the proceeds of book sales from the five book series of “The Adventures of Giggles and Owen, A True Story “. This series tells the true story of two dogs who were the stars on a Billerica Access Television program for six years. All the manuscripts and illustrations for this book series have been donated to the Corporation to help further its goals. In addition to grants given, BASC has donated books from the five book series to every elementary classroom in Billerica, K-3, to other surrounding schools and to many libraries.

Other enrichment projects include Kids Talk, Stand Up Kids, and History Comes Alive.

During the COVID-19 pandemic “I’m Not Afraid” was written and published in English and Spanish to help address some of the concerns of children. These books were donated to elementary schools and other sites.
